What is joining?

Joining is a process in which two materials are connected by compression. Finn-Power crimping machines apply a radial crimp to the part, causing the materials to bond securely together.
The joining process can also involve shaping or forming the part at the same time.

Forming

What is forming?

By manipulating the material, it is possible to create features such as slip-fit and telescopic structures, reductions, and hexagonal or square shapes.

Among the many possible end products are water valve keys, fire escape ladders, tent poles, rock bolts, and exhaust pipes. Forming is also used for calibration – for example, restoring a tube to its correct round shape after it has been distorted during previous processing stages.
