Motion Industries’ Dallas hose fabrication location manufactures hydraulic and industrial hoses for mining equipment. The hose shop, currently operating a dozen pieces of Finn-Power equipment, has relied on Finn-Power technology since the 1980s. One of the key reasons for their continued trust in Finn-Power is the machines’ reliability – the oldest Finn-Power machine in the shop, an FP140 that went into service in 1994, was only retired last year after 30 years of use.

“And it was still working fine when we retired it,” says Christian Bernstein, Operations Manager in the Dallas hose fabrication location. “Finn-Powers are workhorses. They require minimal maintenance and just get the job done without us having to work on them. We use Finn-Power because it is far more reliable than any other brand. That’s why most of the equipment in our shop are Finn-Power.”

Finn-Power Crimpers and Saws Enhance Production with Efficiency and Reliability

For Bernstein, reliability is Finn-Power’s most significant advantage. The hose shop’s Finn-Power crimpers and saws require only minimal preventive maintenance, which helps save on spare parts, repair costs, and valuable working hours. Machine malfunctions are extremely rare – meaning production stays up and running without costly interruptions.

“We had a crimper from another brand alongside our Finn-Power machines. That unit required frequent maintenance – I had to rewire the PLC, replace the potentiometer a couple of times, and deal with spring changes. In comparison, the Finn-Power machines have required next to no maintenance. We replaced the older crimper with a FP160 last year, and I couldn’t be happier with the upgrade.”

Bernstein is also happy with the efficiency Finn-Power machines bring to their operations.

“All Finn-Power machines, both crimpers and saws, cycle quicker than others. The whole crimping cycle, for example, is faster. I’m also very happy with the machines’ accessibility and user-friendliness. I really like the new ICC controls and the fact that the programming is hardwired into the machine — not in a separate app. It is more reliable.”

For customer service, Bernstein rates Lillbacka 10/10.

“I’ve dealt with suppliers with whom I have to contact seven different people before I receive help.
